Butterfly Conservation is one of the wildlife organisations that recommends planting buddleia for its summer nectar that the creatures feed on, but admits the plant has to be treated with caution.




Also called summer lilac, butterfly-bush, or orange eye, native to Sichuan and Hubei provinces in central China and Japan

Buddleja, or Buddleia, commonly known as the butterfly bush, is a genus comprising over 140 species of flowering plants endemic to Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
