On this day 1 June 2020

Dunnock
A late walk to the park which turned out to be to hot so did not stay long, plants are slowing down due to the lack of water, and the boggy areas have dried up.

Still plenty of flies about though so did take a few photos, Diptera is one of the largest groups to study with over 100,000 known species. I am struggling to get the family name from House fly, Blow Fly, Flesh fly so on and so on ! it can be very time consuming too.

Where possible I will name them otherwise they will be called a fly.

Snipe fly

Thick-legged Hoverfly - Syritta pipiens

The bright metallic Flies  could be Blow fly (Lucilia bufonivora)
