Wood anemone (Anemonoides nemorosa)


A quick walk round the park to see what was about, even though it has been sunny it's still cold and not many insects about.

The Wood anemone look lovely in the sunshine, they don't seem to last long. The Ramsons Wild garlic grow quite fast and tend to grow over the anemone.



Had another root round the stream before it get's to dark to take photos, once the trees leaf uo it gets very dark down in the bottom. 

Found a few things I'm not sure of....

Water louse (Asellus aquaticus)

Asellus aquaticus is a freshwater crustacean resembling a woodlouse. It is known by common names including "waterlouse", "aquatic sowbug" and "water hoglouse".


This crustacean is closely related to woodlice but lives entirely in water. It is one of four waterlouse species in Britain

In the U.K. P. albipes is widespread, including all the islands north to The Shetlands, generally common and often abundant in wetland situations including the seashore.
